363 foreigners in Bangladesh jails: Home Minister
A total of 363 foreigners are imprisoned or detained in different jails in Bangladesh for committing various crimes, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told the parliament on Tuesday.
Responding to a question of lawmaker Farida Yasmin, the home minister said that out of them 212 are Indians, 114 are from Myanmar, 7 are from Pakistan and 4 are Chinese nationals.
Besides, 6 Malaysians, 6 Nigerians, and 4 Belarusians are also in jail here.
Responding to a question of lawmaker Mahbubur Rahman of Chottogram-1 constituency, the lawmaker said that 994 Rohingyas have been arrested for their involvement in criminal activities from August 2017 to May 2024.
