Jollad Shahjahan dies

Shahjahan Bhuiyan, known as Jollad Shahjahan for executing a number of death-row convicts including six involved in the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family, died today.
"Shahjahan Bhuiyan, 74, died this morning. He was admitted to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital last night with chest pain," said Sajib Dey, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
The former chief hangman of Dhaka Central Jail was freed from jail on June 18, 2023.
