Govt forms commission to investigate enforced disappearances
The interim government has formed a five-member commission to trace and identify missing persons and investigate the circumstances under which they were forcibly disappeared by various intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
The commission will submit a report to the government within the next 45 working days, reads a notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.
The commission, headed by High Court former judge Moinul Islam Chowdhury, includes High Court former additional judge Farid Ahmed Shibli, human rights activist Noor Khan, BRAC University teacher Nabila Idris and human rights activist Sajjad Hossain.
