St Martin, Kuakata, Sundarbans to be made plastic-free: Rizwana

An initiative will be taken on an urgent basis to make the country lone coral island Saint Martin, Kuakata beach and the mangrove forest Sundarbans free from single-use plastic and polythene, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan said today (27 August).
Apart from the government measures, she said, the participation of non-governmental organisations and young society is necessary. "Only collective efforts of all can give a clean environment," she added.
The environment adviser made the comments while speaking at a meeting with various environmental organisations at the Secretariat, reads a press statement.
