TikTok and JAAGO announces Partnership Extension at Youth Empowerment Summit 2024
TikTok, in partnership with JAAGO Foundation, today announced the extension of their collaborative initiative, Shabdhane Online-A, aimed at educating the youth of Bangladesh on online safety and responsible social media use. This announcement was made at the Youth Empowerment Summit (YES) 2024 held at the Rural Development Academy in Bogura.
Launched two years ago, the Shabdhane Online-A campaign has been a cornerstone in efforts to navigate the complexities of the digital landscape, particularly among young users.
The initiative focuses on capacity building, community sensitization, division level dialogue, and leveraging social media for awareness creation. It targets young individuals between the ages of 16 to 25, empowering them with the knowledge and tools necessary for safe internet practices and positive content creation.
The campaign has made significant strides, covering all 28 districts across Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions, and is currently active in Khulna Division.
To date, it has engaged 980 participants directly through workshops, with an additional 210 expected to join in the remaining sessions.
The initiative has also seen a remarkable online engagement, with the hashtag #ShabdhaneOnline being used in over 2,000 content pieces, generating more than 12 million impressions and reaching 2 million individuals.
