Company fined for environ violations
A mobile court in Bera upazila, Pabna, fined Young Bangla Manufacturing Company Taka one lakh (100,000) for violating environmental protection regulations.
The company, located in Dharmaganj under Masumdia Union Parishad, had been burning jute sticks to produce carbon powder for export. However, the process was found to cause significant environmental pollution over a prolonged period.
Upon receiving information about the violation, Md. Murshidul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate of Bera, conducted a mobile court on December 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The court imposed the fine on the company manager, Md. Rajidur Rahman, under sections 12 and 17 of the Environmental Protection Act, 1995 (amended in 2010).
Md. Abdul Momin, an inspector from the Department of Environment, was also present during the operation.
Md. Rajidur Rahman, son of Abdul Rahman, is a resident of Bitua Kandi in Gabtoli, Bogra.
