Feeding festival held in Bera

Bera, Pabna: An extraordinary feeding festival was organized at Dokkhin Para in Bera Municipality on Friday evening, bringing together the local community in a unique show of unity and tradition.
The event, now in its 11th year since its inception in 2013, saw active participation from over 100 young villagers who played key roles in making the festival a success. Participants purchased fresh vegetables from the local market and assisted the chief cook in preparing the signature dish, a mixed vegetable dish locally known as hospos.
Nurunnabi, a local school teacher and one of the event organizers, shared details about the scale of the preparation. “We used 200 kilograms of rice, 80 maunds of vegetables, and 50 kilograms of cereals to prepare the meal. All expenses were voluntarily funded by the villagers,” he said.
The cooking process began at 7:00 p.m. and concluded by 10:00 p.m., after which the food was served to attendees. The festival highlighted the strong communal spirit of the village, with guests expressing their joy at being part of the event.
This annual tradition has become a symbol of unity for the residents of Dokkhin Para, demonstrating the power of collective effort in preserving local customs.
