Law and order meeting held

A monthly law and order meeting for January 2025 was held yesterday at the Bera Upazila Parishad, presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Morshidul Islam.
During the meeting, several key issues were discussed, including the management of household waste under the responsibility of Bera Pouroshava, immediate measures to control traffic congestion at Bera Bus Stand, and the prevention of illegal sand removal from the Ghopsalanda riverside.
Additionally, arrangements were proposed for a journalist tour to observe the functioning of village courts at various Union Parishad Bhavans in Bera Upazila. Concerns were raised regarding the need to enhance village police activities, as a recent fire incident at Badherhat was not reported to the UNO in a timely manner. The meeting also emphasized strict action against the production of adulterated milk.
Prominent attendees included the principals of Alhera School and College and Mohila Kamil Madrasha, Rooppur UP Chairman, Dr. Mizanur Rahman (ULO, Bera), Officer-in-Charge (O/C) of Bera Model Thana, O/C of Aminpur Thana, O/C of River Police Station (Nagarbari), and Bera Press Club President M.A. Hannan, among others.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the administrator of Notun Bharanga Union was awarded a crest for outstanding performance in birth registration.
