Law and order meeting held in Bera

A monthly law and order meeting was held at the Bera Upazila Parishad yesterday. The meeting, chaired by Md. Morshidul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bera, addressed several key issues concerning public safety and infrastructure.
Discussions included the wrongful diagnosis of a patient at Bera Upazila Health Complex—who happened to be the Upazila Ansar & VDP officer—along with the functioning of village courts at union parishads, the repair of the Bera-Haturia-Nakalia road, and measures to prevent the theft of Palli Bidyut transformers.
Other matters discussed included managing conflicts over sand extraction in Kaitola Union, ensuring smooth ferry ghat operations ahead of Eid, and enforcing maritime regulations. The meeting also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of Bera Thana police in successfully recovering stolen property belonging to a retired government employee.
Among the attendees were Md. Abdul Hannan, Upazila Ansar & VDP officer; the president of Bera Press Club; representatives from Bera and Aminpur Thana; the Officer-in-Charge of Nagarbari River Police; the Deputy General Manager of Bera Palli Bidyut; and representatives from various union parishads under Bera Upazila.
