Food distribution prog held in Nilphamari

A food distribution program was organized in Mirgonj Union under Jaldhaka upazila of Nilphamari district on Sunday morning to support underprivileged families ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The initiative was undertaken by TRI Foundation as part of its ongoing efforts to spread joy during the festive season.
Essential food items, including rice, pulses, condensed milk, sugar, potatoes, and semai, were distributed among 220 families at Pocchim Simulbari Kanchion Para GPS.
Deputy Commissioner of Nilphamari, Mohammad Nairuzzaman, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Arju M. Sajjad Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Jaldhaka Police Station; Zayed Imrul Mazakkin, Upazila Executive Officer of Jaldhaka; and Mohammad Mohsin, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nilphamari. The program was presided over by Channel i district correspondent and Channel i Dhorshok Forum member secretary, Anwarul Alom.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Nairuzzaman commended the initiative, stating, “I appreciate this humanitarian effort. We are going through challenging times, and it is crucial for the well-off to step forward so that everyone can equally enjoy the upcoming Eid.”
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, highlighting the difficulties of affording daily necessities amid rising prices. Nur Nahar, a local resident, shared, “I am very grateful for these essentials. My husband is a rickshaw puller, and with the soaring prices of food, it is difficult for us to manage. May Allah bless those who organized this program.”
Channel i district correspondent Anwarul Alom emphasized the foundation commitment to serving the underprivileged. “TRI Foundation is dedicated to supporting the poor and distressed. This food distribution program is being carried out across all districts of Bangladesh. We organize this initiative every year and will continue to do so in the future. I sincerely thank everyone involved in making this program a success.”
