Independence day observed in Bera

Bera Upazila observed Independence Day yesterday with due solemnity and enthusiasm. Following government directives, various programs were organized to mark the occasion.
The day began with the laying of floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar on the Bera Upazila Parishad campus. Government officials, political leaders, and members of different organizations participated in the tribute.
Later, the Upazila Administration hosted a reception at the Muktijoddha Complex to honor freedom fighters, including martyred, injured, and active participants of the Liberation War. During the event, a freedom fighter suggested that photographs of Bir Sreshthas and local war heroes be displayed on commemorative crests instead of distributing generic gift items.
A ceremonial march-past took place at the Shahid Abdul Khaleque Stadium at 8:30 AM, featuring students, law enforcement agencies, and various local groups. Additionally, special meals were served to patients at the local hospital as part of the day observances.
The Bera Upazila Administration played a key role in ensuring the successful execution of all programs, contributing to a meaningful and respectful celebration of Independence Day.
