Kachagolla gains GI status

Kachagolla of Natore has been recognized as the 17th Geographical Indication (GI) product of the country.
Deputy Director of the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) Mirza Golam Sarwar today confirmed that Bangladesh is now one and only owner of the product.
On March 30, the Natore district administration filed an application to prevent the distortion of the nearly 250-year-old Kachagolla and to recognize its geographical innovation site.
