Postal dept facilities help Qawmi entrepreneurs to deliver mangoes in Dhaka

Qawmi young entrepreneurs, in collaboration with the postal department, are set to transport mangoes from Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, and Satkhira directly to consumers in Dhaka. Leveraging the reliable network of postal and transport infrastructure, this effort aims to ensure fresh mangoes reach customers daily, with an estimated 4,000 kg being delivered each day in Dhaka. Special Assistant to Chief Adviser on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb inaugurated the initiative today at the Postal Building in Agargaon, said a ministry press release. Speaking at the event, Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb highlighted the ongoing reforms within the Bangladesh Postal Department, saying efforts are there to revitalize supply chains as part of the transformation. He explained that the initiative aims to help small and medium entrepreneurs leverage the Postal Departments existing infrastructure to expand their delivery spaces. Given the departments long-standing presence and extensive branch network in remote areas, he expressed confidence that entrepreneurs could utilize its capacity to deliver products directly to consumers in distant locations. Without such support, he noted, establishing an independent supply chain and ensuring consumer access would be a significant challenge. This move is led by Qawmi entrepreneurs — who have started their entrepreneurial journey through a platform created for Qawmi Madrasa educated youth. This community, built in the light of Islamic ideals and ethics, aims to achieve self-reliance through halal income, teach technology and skills, and develop a credible and blessed business mindset. Currently, their community has 80000+ Qawmi young entrepreneurs, who are building their careers in freelancing, online business, e-commerce, agriculture and manufacturing sectors. Bangladesh Postal Department, the oldest and most reliable organization in the country, is working as the transport partner for this project. Mangoes, collected from farmers, will be delivered to customers addresses in every corner of Dhaka every day through the extensive network of the Postal Department, which will ensure a unique experience for consumers. The entrepreneurs hope that this project will not only be a seasonal activity, but will also be established as a sustainable agricultural product marketing model. It can be an exemplary example for other fruits, agricultural products and regional production in the future. Under this initiative, a plan has been taken to transport about 4000 kg of mangoes to Dhaka every day, relying on the reliable logistics network of the Postal Department. Through this initiative, entrepreneurs and farmers are getting affordable transportation facilities; the benefits of which will be directly enjoyed by consumers at the consumer price level. To avail the services of this initiative, any citizen can contact the Facebook group called “Qawmi Udukta” or the Facebook pages of the vendors associated with this initiative and place an order.
