Workshop on "Fostering Innovation and Technology" held

A workshop titled "Fostering Innovation and Technology" was held at the auditorium of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology on Monday. The event was presided over by the university Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam. The chief guest of the workshop was Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, former State Minister for Education and Director of ADUST Skill Development Institute. The honored guest was Mohammad Shamsul Alam Liton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, while Md. Kamruzzaman Litu, Member-Secretary of the Board of Trustees, attended as a special guest.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Manzur Mohammad Shahriar, a digital entrepreneur and Project Director of the Innovation Ecosystem Development Project, discussed the significance of Innovation Hubs in fostering entrepreneurship. He shared his experiences to inspire students and assured government support for establishing an Innovation Hub at Atish Dipankar University. He emphasized that ICT training is essential for tackling unemployment and encouraged the youth to use innovation hubs to develop entrepreneurial skills. He also advised various departments, including ICT and Agribusiness, to leverage the Innovation Hub for fostering entrepreneurship.
Chief guest Dr. Ehsanul Haque Milon stated, "Talent knows no boundaries; it transcends nations. Our youth have sacrificed their blood to free the country from autocracy. I firmly believe that by leveraging modern technology, they will build a new Bangladesh."
Board of Trustees Chairman Mohammad Shamsul Alam Liton announced plans to expand the Skill Development Institute (SDI) across seven divisions and gradually to the sub-district level. He emphasized that by implementing SDI initiatives and establishing industrial links, the institute aims to empower 3.5 million unemployed individuals in the country.
Khandaker Ishtiaq Mahmud, Senior Consultant of the ICT Division a2i Project, highlighted the significance of ChatGPT and self-learning in adapting to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam expressed his gratitude to all attendees and officially concluded the workshop. The event was moderated by Majid Ishtiaq Ahmed, Chair of the Robotics and Automation Department, while the welcome speech was delivered by Registrar Md. Abdul Kaiyum Sardar. Faculty members, students, university officials, and distinguished guests were present at the event.
