Dhaka Jewelery exhibition made by underprivileged children is underway
In celebration of International Childrens Day, an exhibition of ornaments made by underprivileged children is taking place at the Uttara branch of “Babuland - Indoor Playground” in the capital Dhaka. The exhibition, initiated by Super Kid Initiatives, ended November 25.
“Super Kid Initiatives” has been working with underprivileged children for a long time, and recently, they started an initiative called “Art Creates Hope.” The project is designed to open a new aesthetic avenue for the livelihood of children who, at a very young age, find themselves seeking sustenance, by transforming them from child laborers to child artists.
Experimentally, this training was given to 8 underprivileged children of “Unmesh Pathshala” in Uttara without harming their studies. After completing the initial training phase, the children surprised everyone by creating several ornaments. This exhibition primarily focuses on those ornaments. When asked about this, the founder and chief executive officer of Super Kid, Tanzill Hasan, stated that their aim is to create national-level art craftsmen and artists from among the underprivileged children of the country.
It is evident that the people who attended the exhibition are very interested and appreciative of this innovative initiative and product. Some provided valuable feedback along with praising the childrens work. In this regard, Tanzil Hasan said, “We have received a better response than expected. The customers are more impressed than us by the output that the children have produced in a short period of training.”
He also mentioned that such a response will encourage them to do better. It is to be noted that underprivileged child artists will share the proceeds from the sale of ornaments from the exhibition.
The Super Kids chief executive also said, “Starting with ornaments, in future, children will be trained in new subjects as well.” At one time, a large number of children could choose the life of an artist instead of opting for the profession of a potential laborer in the future. And thats when the light of hope of arts shall be created.
