Students managing traffic, cleaning streets to receive certificates
Brigadier General (Retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, advisor of the home ministry under Bangladesh new interim government, has said students who are managing traffic, cleaning streets and painting graffiti during this time of crisis will receive certificates for their contribution.
Sakhawat made the announcement on Sunday afternoon while visiting injured police officers at the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh, Dhaka.
He said students were contributing to the nation, and their efforts would be recognized.
"I request the inspector general of police to issue certificates from the police to the students who are controlling traffic, cleaning streets and alleys, and painting graffiti on walls. These certificates should be valued during job applications."
The advisor added that students were working on the streets, cleaning roads and beautifying walls with their own money. “If this were a government project, it would have cost hundreds of crores.”
