Hearth Summit promotes intergenerational wellbeing, growth

Innovation for Wellbeing Foundation (IWF), in partnership with The Wellbeing Project, hosted the inaugural Hearth Summit Bangladesh (Dhaka Edition) at BRAC University today. Co-hosted by BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BRAC IED) and supported by the British Council, the summit attracted 400 participants, including youth, educators, parents, and mental health experts.
Under the theme “Connecting Generations for Wellbeing and Growth,” the summit offered a dynamic platform for dialogue, healing, and empowerment. Attendees engaged in inspiring talks, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and immersive art experiences aimed at addressing mental health challenges and promoting holistic wellbeing. IWF envisions impacting over 5,000 individuals nationwide through these wellbeing practices.
Stephen Forbes, Country Director of British Council Bangladesh, stressed the summit importance in easing the emotional burdens faced by young people amid modern pressures. Marcus Davies, Political Counsellor at the Canadian High Commission, highlighted support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, emphasizing the need for safe spaces and counseling following past social unrest.
Workshops led by experts—including sessions on advocacy, storytelling on physical activities, and creative mindfulness—complemented engaging activities such as chair-based workouts, sound healing exercises, and art installations. Monira Rahman, IWF Founder and Executive Director, stated, “Hearth Summit Bangladesh marks a pivotal step toward mainstreaming mental health services and empowering communities through intergenerational connections.”
The event underscored a shared commitment to fostering resilience and driving sustainable growth across Bangladesh mental health landscape.
