Speakers in a programme told that the country people will have to get united to build a new Bangladesh in the spirit of July-August revolution. “After independence, the country has been ruled by nationalism, secularism, and socialist ideology. Basically, The country has become a haven for bribery, corruption, murder, terrorism, and anarchy as it is not governed yet according to the holy Quran,” they said at an iftar programme hosted by NCP Pallabi unit at a community centre in Mirpur area of the capital on Tuesday. “To make the country free from misrule and mismanagement, the country must be transformed into an Islamic welfare state. Islam must be followed completely in all aspects of life. Otherwise, we will have to face severe punishment from Allah,” they said. NCP Central Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb was present. Central Organizer Mansur Abdullah and Central Member Eng. Imran Naeem were also present. The event was presided over by Pallabi NCP leader Mr. Hasan Ahmed. Miss Rehana Akhter Ruma was in charge of the overall supervision. Md. Muhtashimur Rahman Shihab was in charge of public relations. The event was attended by 400 people from Pallabi Police Station, including the families of the martyrs and the injured. The martyrs families expressed their hopes and aspirations to the government.
