Fire at Shahbagh flower shops brought under control
A fire that broke out at flower shops in the capitals Shahbagh area on Saturday night has been brought under control.
The fire erupted around 9:30pm and was brought under control by 10:55pm, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Talha Bin Zashim, Station officer of FSCD headquarters media cell, said, “We received information about the blaze at 9:53pm. Initially, three firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, with two more joining later to tackle the flames.”
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be determined immediately. However, shopkeepers suspect that a gas cylinder might have triggered the fire.
No casualties have been reported yet.
