BCS team participates in WCIT 2022

The 26th conference of the World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT 2022), known as the Olympics of information technology, is going to be held in Penang, Malaysia from Tuesday, September 13. The conference is organized by the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PICOM), the Malaysian IT organization. This conference is being held in Malaysia for the second time. Bangladesh Computer Association (BCS) President Engineer Subrata Sarkar and Vice President Md. A team of ten people including Rashed Ali Bhuiyan is participating in this conference.
About 4 thousand people from 80 countries will participate in this conference under the slogan ‘Connecting and Transforming the World’. The conference will feature technology expert keynote speakers and over 200 subject-based moderators and panelists. Information technologists, businessmen, government officials, entrepreneurs and students will share their views on the modern world and advanced business.
The World Innovation, Technology and Service Alliance (WITSA) has been organizing this conference since 1978. 82 countries of the world including world’s reputed IT organizations are members of this organization. These members control 90 percent of the world’s IT business. One organization from each country gets membership here. Witsa is a member of Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) in Bangladesh. BCS acquired membership of BCS Witser in 1999.
Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri will attend the opening ceremony of WCIT 2022 as the chief guest. President of Picom. Sinh Siah and General Secretary Dr. Jim Poissant disclosed this information in a statement. 5G, HealthTech, SmartCity, Global Business Services, EduTech, Blockchain & NFTS, Cyber Security, Sea Unicorns will be highlighted in this conference on a total of 15 themes.
The Witser Board meeting was held on Monday, September 12, at the Setia Spice Convention Center in Penang, Malaysia. In the meeting, Vice Chairman Engineer Subrata Sarkar of Asia and Pacific Region and Vice President Md. as a representative of BCS. Rashed Ali Bhuiyan was present. In the meeting, Subrata Sarkar gave his views on the progress of information technology in the Asia Pacific region, future plans and role in the development of the region by using the latest technology.
The three-day conference will conclude on September 15. Incidentally, this conference was held in Bangladesh in 2021.
