Naogaon shivers lowest temperature

Struggles of locals mount

Shivering cold has gripped the northern district of Naogaon as the country lowest temperature at 8.6 degree Celsius was recorded here on Sunday morning.
The severity of the cold coupled with winds remained unchanged, resulting in suffering of low-income people, especially children and the elderly.
The temperature starts dropping in the afternoon, locals said; adding that it seems the temperature comes down to zero at night.
Farmers have been facing difficulties in cultivating the Boro paddy amid the knee-shaking cold.
Firoz Hossain, a farmer of Shailgachhi union under the Sadar upazila, said they can not plant the saplings of the Boro paddy till 9 am amid the cold.
