Operation Devil Hunt to continue as long as necessary: Home Secretary
Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Ghani today said the joint forces "Operation Devil Hunt" is aimed at arresting those trying to make the country unstable.
"Our target is to neutralise the pockets from where attempts are being made to destabilise the country.... The operation will continue as long as necessary," he said while replying to a question in a press briefing over the "Operation Devil Hunt" at the conference room of the Home Ministry at the Secretariat here.
He said they have briefed all the forces so that they can carry out the operation in a focused way by maintaining the law and order and protecting the human rights.
Replying to a question, he said police will lead the Operation Devil Hunt.
"It is a police action," he said, adding that the military which was given magistracy power after August 5 changeover, will act to help maintaining the law and order.
The Home Adviser stressed the need for protecting the human rights during the operation.
