Zelensky still underscores US support after White House debacle

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today said despite the White House debacle he needs US support amid fresh reports suggesting that after being scolded by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, he was bereted as well by US national security adviser Mike Waltz, who eventually showed him the door.
“It is crucial for us to have President Trump support . . . He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than we do,” the Ukrainian leader said in a series of posts on X on Saturday.
He also expressed his gratitude for the US backing of Ukraine since Russia invaded his country, as Trump and Vance accused him of not being thankful to the United States for billions of dollars it spent to stand by Ukraine in its war with Russia during the past three years.
