Normalcy returns to the people of Teesta basin in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: Normalcy has returned to the people of Teesta river basin areas of four northern districts including Gaibandha. Like the previous time, they started living normal life in the river basin.
Official sources here today said, a hydroelectric dam has collapsed in Sikkim, a state of India on Wednesday due to flood caused by heavy rainfall. As a result, the floodwater came to Bangladesh through the Teesta River in India.
At one stage, the floodwater entered into Bangladesh territory through Gazoldoba Bridge at Jalpaiguri of West Bengal.
