Official activities must be conducted in line with laws: Info Sec

20 May, 2025 : Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana today said that official activities must be conducted in accordance with the existing laws and regulations. "It is possible to establish official discipline through proper application of laws and regulations. One must remain vigilant so that no case is filed against the government due to the negligence of any official or employee," she said. The secretary made the remarks at a workshop titled Laws and Strategies to Support Case Management, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Tathya Bhaban here. Mentioning that it is essential to establish the rule of law at every level of the state, she said, "All aspects of our lives are regulated and governed by the legal system. For this reason, every citizen should have knowledge of some essential laws. There is no alternative to following proper etiquette, policies, rules, and laws while presenting and disposing of official documents." She emphasized that government employees should have a clear understanding of land management laws, procedures to protect government property, and certificate cases, urging officials and employees to apply the knowledge acquired through training in their daily work. Law Officer of the Information Ministry Md Masud Parvez and Joint Secretary Kazi Ziaul Baset, among others, also spoke at the event. A total of 48 officials and employees from the Department of Mass Communication, Bangladesh Television, and Bangladesh Betar participated in the workshop.
