Flood damage cost Tk14,421cr in eastern Bangladesh: CPD
The recent floods in 11 districts in the eastern region of Bangladesh have caused estimated damage of Tk14,421 crore, around $1.20 billion, according to a study conducted by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD).
The private think tank presented the study report on "Recent Flood Damage and Rehabilitation Process in Eastern Region: CPD Analysis" at a media briefing at its office in Dhaka today (6 October).
CPD Executive Director Dr Fahmida Khatun and Research Director Khondaker Golam Moazzem, among others, spoke at the briefing while CPD Research Fellow Muntaseer Kamal delivered a presentation on the study.
