Bikroy participates in the 17th Basis SoftExpo 2023

Bikroy is participating for the first time in the largest regional technological exposition, Basis SoftEXpo 2023. According to a press release, it is the largest annual exhibition of technology innovation and solutions in Bangladesh, showcasing the progress of various software, IT and ITES institutions in the country. The theme of the 17th rendition of Basis SoftExpo is ‘Welcome to the Smartverse’ which will focus on national and international technology-based relationships. The event started today (February 23, 2023) and will continue till February 26, 2023. Bikroy’s participation in this year’s event aims to highlight its contribution as a digital classified platform through its buying and selling services. Any visitor and exhibitor can check out the company’s available digital listing services through its Basis SoftExpo exhibitor profile. Bikroy’s services will also be highlighted in their stall, located in Hall 01, Open Pavillion 14. Visitors and exhibitors can visit the stall and gain an idea of Bikroy Membership services for mobile, home and electronics, business and industry, fashion, pets and animals, sports and others. The participants of 2023 will include 204 local and foreign IT companies. Besides, over 200 local and foreign IT professionals and industry experts will be participating in this event. The exhibition will host seminars, conferences, a 5G experience zone, e-sports championships and even live concerts. BASIS soft expo 2023: Huawei becomes Partner

With the slogan welcome to the smart verse basis soft expo 2023, one of the biggest exhibitions of information and communication technology (ICT) sector in South Asia, will begin on 23 February at Bangabandhu Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal in the capital, said a press release. Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is organising to show the latest technology innovations and ICT capabilities of Bangladesh to the world. Capacity of Bangladesh’s information technology sector will be highlighted through various programs in this four-day largest information technology exhibition. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between BASIS and Huawei recently. In the signing ceremony, on behalf of BASIS, Russell T Ahmed, President of BASIS, Abu Daud Khan, Vice-President (Admin) of BASIS, Hashim Ahmed, Secretary of BASIS and Farah Jabin Ahmed, Assistant Manager, Stakeholder Relations of BASIS were present. On behalf of Huawei, Alex Li, Vice President, Cloud Business Group of Huawei South Asia and Md. Shajahan Ahmed, Cloud Solutions Sales Manager of Huawei, were present. Russell T Ahmed says, “We are now moving towards achieving the Smart Bangladesh goal. We are hopeful that BASIS soft expo 2023 will play a significant role in achieving this goal and take Bangladesh a step ahead in digitalization. More than 800 corporate executives are expected to attend at ‘Business Leaders Meet’. Besides, more than 23 seminars and technical sessions will be held at the BASIS SoftExpo 2023. S M Nazmul Hasan, Director, Marketing, Huawei South Asia will be attending a session titled ‘5G and IoT - Opportunities for BGD Telecom and Software Industry’ on 25th Feb 2023, Saturday as panelist. There are various events and facilities for the visitors including shuttle services, knowledge-sharing sessions, cultural programs, which are respectively, theater, gaming corner, music fest, business lounge, food court will be arranged. About three lakh visitors including government and private policy makers, about 200 national and international speakers, IT experts, IT sector businessmen, foreign delegations, domestic and foreign IT users and interested young students will visit BASIS SoftExpo 2023. It is expected that this year approximately 10 lakh young generations will be interested through social media and attempts are ongoing to engage 50 university’s students. Like every year, IT professionals will come from the country and abroad.

Free shuttle services for BASIS SoftExpo from Feb 23

Buses will depart every 15 minutes to the exhibition from 8am to 10pm center from Kuril every day. At the same time buses will leave from the venue to Kuril every 15 minutes from 9am to 11pm every day. Visitors can visit and return from the exhibition center by these buses free of cost. Apart from the shuttle bus, there will be special discount facilities for those who visit to BASIS SoftExpo from different places of the capital through the ride sharing service ‘Pathao’. The BASIS SoftExpo 2023 will hold bilateral meetings and business agreements to accelerate business in various countries worldwide. The exposition will feature a ‘B2B’ matchmaking session between Bangladeshi companies and foreign entities. The goal is to encourage foreign investors to recognize the potential of the Bangladesh technology sector. The event will host over 800 high officials of corporate institutions attending the Business Leaders Meet program. There will be special segments at the expo, including a ministerial conference, ‘ambassador’s night’ with the participation of diplomats, job fair, career camp, business-to-business matchmaking session, freelancing conference, startup conference, developers’ conference, women in technology, and Japan Day. Over 200 national and international speakers, high officials of public and private institutions, are expected to share knowledge at 20 sessions in participation of high officials of the public and private sector.

President, PM wish ‘BASIS SoftExpo 2023’ a grand success

President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have appreciated Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) for organising annual software exposition “BASIS SoftExpo 2023” on February 23-26. In separate messages on the eve of the ‘BASIS SoftExpo’, the President and the Prime Minister expressed their hope that the SoftExpo would create enormous opportunities in expanding IT sectors in Bangladesh. President Md Abdul Hamid, in his message, said it line with the goal of ‘Vission-41’ Bangladesh under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is thriving to build an advance, prosperous and ‘Smart Bangladesh’. Information Technology (IT) has a pivotal role in materializing the goals of Smart Bangladesh equipped with digital technologies, he added. He said facility IDC, a tier 3, PCI-DSS certified internet data centre (IDC) has recently been launched at the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakoir of Gazipur and Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park, Jashore are operating on in full swing. Besides, Janata tower Software Technology Park is functioning efficiently, the Head of the state added. Ensuring connectivity, e-governance and strengthening the domestic IT industry are the focus of these activities, he said. The President said ‘BASIS SoftExpo 2023’ can be an important platform for showcasing the initiatives, accomplishment and achievements and innovations of IT sectors of Bangladesh. In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the Awami League government has put emphasis on transforming the country from ‘Digital Bangladesh’ to ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041. In the last 14 years, the government has transformed the country into a Digital Bangladesh by making information technology accessible to all, including the marginal people, through efficient, service-oriented and ICT-friendly services, she said. “Now we are working for the development of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Big Data, Block Chain, loT and machine learning to meet the future challenges including the fourth Industrial Revolution,” she added. “The government is working to successfully implement the four foundations of building ‘Smart Bangladesh’. These are—Smart Citizens, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society,” the premier said, adding that in Smart Bangladesh, everything will rely on technology, citizens will be skilled in using technology and the entire economy will be managed by technology. Due to our government’s various initiatives, Bangladesh has emerged as a Role Model of socio-economic development in the world, she said. Sheikh Hasina said technology in the world today is developing at a very fast pace and people from different fields are making many additions to it. “I believe that the domestic software organisations of our country can make their identity at international level through the BASIS SoftExpo which is the annual mega exposition and the largest showcase of IT and ITeS products and services of the country’s private sector,” she added. Both the President and the Prime Minister wished the ‘BASIS SoftExpo 2023’ a grand success.
