    US remains neutral in upcoming polls: Haas
    The US ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas today said his country remains neutral in the Bangladesh upcoming polls and Washington does not support any particular political party.
    "We delivered the same message that we delivered to all political parties here which is the United States remains neutral in the upcoming elections (in Bangladesh)," he told reporters.
    He made the remarks after holding a meeting with Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at the Secretariat here.

    NID not enough for voting unless one reaches age-line: EC
    No one would be eligible for casting vote in the elections unless his age line reaches 18 years or above.
    "The Election Commission (EC) usually provides national identity card (NID) to the age group of 16 and 17 years along with those who reaches 18 or above...but those who are below 18 are not voter", said M Shariful Alam, EC Director (Public Relations).
    Those who are Bangladeshi citizen, minimum age 18 years or above and was born on January 1, 2005 or before, resident of a particular constituency and enrolled in the voter list are allowed for voting.

    FAO Distributes Dairy Equipment to Small Dairy Farmers
    The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) distributed dairy equipment to the small dairy farmers groups inside Dhaka North City Corporation yesterday.
    This initiative aims to improve their dairy processing capacity and ensure consumers in low-income urban areas to have access to safe and nutritious dairy products.
    The distribution is part of the joint the project called “Food security for households most affected by the COVID- 19 crisis in at-risk low-income urban areas”.
    It is implemented by FAO, WFP, UNICEF and UNFPA, in collaboration with the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; with financial support from the Embassy of the Sweden during the COVID-19 pandemic.
    The project aims to support the peri-urban smallholder farmers to ensure food security and nutrition. As part of the project FAO is distributing dairy equipment like milking machines, milk cooling machine, sealer machine, generator, cream separator, weighing scales, lactometers, grass choppers, plastic milk cans and plastic crates to 10 farmer groups for 189 dairy farmers to use. The distribution took place in Dhelna Eidgah Field, Purbachol; Tafalia Playground, Sector: 17, Uttara, and Baother Momesa Begum High School, Baother, Kachkura, Uttorkhan.
