    Coxs Bazar rail link to boost tourism, industrialization
    COXs BAZAR: Tourist town Coxs Bazar, having the worlds longest sandy beach, is going to enter a new era of railway connectivity as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally open tomorrow the long-cherished 102-km Chattogram-Dohazari-Coxs Bazar dual-gauge single railway line and iconic oyster-shaped Coxs Bazar station here with a marine atmosphere at first sight.
    "All preparations have been completed for the opening of the fast-track mega railway project, implemented at a cost of Taka 18034.47 crore and financed by Asian Development Bank and Bangladesh government, as trial runs were done successfully on Tuesday," Dohazari-Coxs Bazar Railway Project director Md Suboktagin told BSS.

    MetLife Bangladesh retains the highest financial rating
    MetLife Bangladesh has successfully retained AAA credit rating for its strong financial capability to operate smoothly and pay insurance claims without any financial difficulty. AAA is the highest rating available for an organization.
    MetLife Bangladesh received this rating from Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh (CRAB), a leading name in the country for credit research and analytics.
    Since 2010, MetLife Bangladesh has consistently received the highest rating from CRAB, and that run continues with the AAA rating in 2023 for the 13th consecutive year. The rating reflects MetLife's strong competitive position, operating efficiency, sound profitability, high quality of assets, and sound liquidity position.

    Experts seek global support to Bangladesh fight against violence, misinformation
    Experts at an international webinar have described violence and misinformation as the two main barriers to Bangladesh ongoing socioeconomic development led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and sought wholehearted support from global friends to Bangladesh fight against violence and misinformation.
    In the webinar held on November 6, they opined that sustainable democratic process as well as participatory and acceptable elections are only viable when the culprits of violence and disinformation are banished from the political process, urging the US policymakers not to make an Afghanistan-style spoil out of Bangladesh.

    JICA celebrates 50 years of its partnership with Bangladesh
    The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has celebrated 50 years of its continuous partnership with Bangladesh as the development agency has supported a lot towards the country socio-economic development over the last five decades.
    In this regard, the JICA organized an event at a city hotel on Monday evening to commemorate the milestone of 50 years of partnership with Bangladesh, said a press release.
    JICA partnership journey has highlighted strong bilateral relationships, important projects and continued commitment to contribute to Bangladesh socio-economic development.
