Freight train completes test run via Padma Bridge rail link

Bangladesh Railway (BR) today successfully completed a test run of its freight train between Bhanga and Mawa station via the Padma Bridge.
The goods train left Faridpur Bhanga station at 7:40am and ended its journey at Mawa end, said Project Director of Faridpur Rail Project Brigadier General Syed Ahmed.
Later, the train again backed to Bhanga station, he added.

EU delegate to visit shrimp factories by December

KHULNA: Exporters is dreaming to bring back the golden glorious days in shrimp sector as a European delegate is likely to visit Bangladesh in next December, after five years of its last visit.
The EU team is expected to visit some frozen shrimp exporters, shrimp production and marketing factories in Dhaka, Chattogram and Khulna between 5 to 10th December this year, Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA) sources said here today.
In 2018, an EU delegate visited Bangladesh, one of the largest shrimp exporting countries in the world, to witness hygienic situation, wages and facilities of the labourers, environment and quality of shrimp production and processing in different shrimp and marketing factories.

Eid-e-Miladunnabi on Sept 28

The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the anniversary of the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), will be observed across the country on September 28 with due religious solemnity.
The decision was taken at the National Moon Sighting Committee meeting held at the Islamic Foundation (IF) Conference Room at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque this evening with Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Abdul Hamid Jamaddar in the chair, said a press release.

PM opens Shahabuddin special art exhibition at National Museum

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated a special art exhibition titled "A Retrospective 1973-2023" arranged with selected paintings of Independence Award-winning and internationally-acclaimed artist valiant freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed at Bangladesh National Museum in the capital Shahbagh.
Some 140 selected artworks of internationally renowned Bangladeshi painter Shahabuddin Ahmed are being displayed in the month-long solo art exhibition at Nalini Kanta Bhattasali Gallery of the National Museum.
The premier opened the retrospective exhibition by cutting a ribbon and visited the paintings being displayed at the exhibition.
