    78 opposition MPs suspended from Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha: Reports
    NEW DELHI: A total of 78 opposition members of parliament (MPs) both from Indian Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were suspended today for staging protests seeking Home Minister Amit Shah statement on the recent security breach inside the parliament, reports said.
    The Rajya Sabha this evening suspended 45 MPs for the remainder of the Winter Session, barely hours after the Lok Sabha suspended 33 over the Opposition incessant protests demanding the statement of Indian home minister on last week security breach inside parliament.
    Meanwhile, 14 opposition MPs had been suspended last week, also for demanding the statement on the same issue. So, this takes the total number of MPs suspended in this session to 92.

    Kuwait emir Sheikh Nawaf laid to rest in small ceremony
    KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait late emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was laid to rest on Sunday at a private funeral attended by select relatives, a day after he passed away. Draped in a Kuwaiti flag, the coffin of Sheikh Nawaf, whose cause of death was not disclosed, was carried into a Kuwait mosque for prayers ahead of a burial ceremony that was broadcast on state television. Attendance was limited to members of the ruling family, making for an intimate and low-key farewell for the ruler who reigned for three years. The speaker of Kuwait parliament was also present.

    Donald Tusk sworn in as Poland new prime minister
    WARSAW: Poland president on Wednesday swore in Donald Tusk as the new pro-EU prime minister, putting an end to eight years of right-wing populist rule.
    The ministers of the new administration were successively sworn in by the conservative head of state, who is allied with the previous government of the Law and Justice (PiS) party.
    Tusk, who previously served as prime minister in 2007-2014, has pledged to restore Poland position in the European Union after rule-of-law infringements strained Warsaw ties with Brussels.

    UK PM Sunak faces leadership test over Rwanda plan
    LONDON: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday sought to avoid a humiliating defeat for his latest plans to send migrants to Rwanda that have split his ruling Conservative party.
    The Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill is Sunak answer to a unanimous Supreme Court ruling last month that deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda was illegal in international law.
    Interior minister James Cleverly admitted the plans were "novel" and "pushing at the edge of the envelope" but addressed the court concerns.
