Women football team makes losing start in Asian Games

HANGZHOU: As expected Bangladesh women football team made a losing start in the 19th South Asian Games football after a massive 8- 0 goal defeat to former world champions Japan in their pool D opening match held today (Friday) Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
In the day match, Chiba Remina, Tanikawa and Sakakibara Kotana scored a brace each in the 7th and 15th and 8th and 77th and 56th and 82nd minutes respectively while they were well supported by Shiokoshi, Hijikata who netted one goal each in the 45+1st and 47th minutes for the winning side in the one- sided affairs.

Rain plays spoilsport in first ODI

The rain had the final say as the three-match ODI series opening game between Bangladesh and New Zealand were called off at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.
The rain interrupted twice in the match-first time after 4.3 overs as it stopped the game for one hour and reduced the game to 42-over.
