Jr. Badminton teams win gold in singles, doubles event

Bangladesh Jr. badminton team won gold in the both boys singles and doubles event of Badminton Asian South Asia (U-17) Regional Junior Championship that concluded today (Tuesday) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
SSM Sifat Ullah won gold in the boys singles U-17 category beating his Sri Lankan rival Thidasa Weragoda while in the boys doubles event SSM Sifat Ullah and Rajon Mia pair secured gold defeating their Nepalese pair Kabir KC and Abhay Mahara pair.
Besides, Rajon Mia and Sinthia Khanom Priyonti pair of Bangladesh bagged the bronze medal in the mixed doubles event.

Shakib seeks prayers from expatriates for Asia Cup, World Cup

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan sought prayers from the expatriate Bangladeshis for their two important missions-Asia Cup and World Cup as he inaugurated a gold shop in Dubai, UAE.
Another cricket star of Bangladesh Mohammad Ashraful was with him during the opening ceremony of the shop, named NRI Jewellers.
He called upon the company to do business with honesty.
"Thank you to NRI Jewellery. They are the reason why I came here and met you. They are taking the country forward with such honesty and devotion, I hope you will do the same so that we can take the country forward together," Shakib said in his speech.

Liton in Dhaka, Shakib in Dubai after LPL mission

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan flew to Dubai after ending the Lankan Premier League (LPL) mission but Liton Das who also played in Shakib team in the tournament returned to Dhaka today. Liton will join the ongoing practice session for the Asia Cup tomorrow (Monday). Shakib meanwhile is slated to return to the country on August 23, a BCB official said. Shakib and Liton team Galle Titans failed to make the LPL final after losing to B-Love Kandy by 34 runs in the second Qualifier yesterday.

Jamal Bhuyan joined Argentine club Sol de Mayo

Bangladesh National Team Captain Jamal Bhuyan has signed with Argentine Club Sol de Mayo, confirmed by President of the football federation of Patagonia, Juan Pablo Beacon on Twitter.
Jamal Bhuyan will play his last game in Bangladesh tomorrow and then travel to join the preseason in Buenos Aires.
Earlier, Argentinian media TYC Sports claimed that Jamal has already completed the contract with the club.
Jamal is currently playing for Sheikh Russell Sports Club in this year Premier League.
After the massive support of the people of Bangladesh during the World Cup, the Argentinians now see Bangladeshi people in a different and more positive light.
