Number of LEED certified factories in RMG reach 202

Two more factories have been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) with both receiving Gold rating and thus taking the total number of LEED factories to 202 in the country.
Out of the number, 73 earned the prestigious Platinum rating, 115 Gold and 10 silver rating.
In 2022, Bangladesh had the highest number of factories being LEED certified in a single year, said BGMEA president Faruque Hassan in a statement.

Commonwealth investment forum to enhance economic cooperation

The Commonwealth Trade and Investment Forum wraps up in Dhaka today with the promise of enhancing cross-border investment to flourish respective economies.
A total of nine sessions were held on investment, banking, technology, Cameroon economy, pharmaceuticals and public health, SMEs, green finance, tourism and international supply chain on the concluding day of the conference at Hotel Intercontinental in the city.

Bangladesh, UK agree to sign MoU on new economic cooperation

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom (UK) have agreed to consider signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on economic cooperation as the two nations gained record-breaking bilateral trade of $6.4 billion in 2022-23.
The two countries have also agreed to create new institutional cooperation to promote business, trade and investments while Bangladesh received 561 million US dollars Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from the UK, the highest from any country in 2022.
The decisions were made at the 5th Bangladesh-UK Strategic Dialogue held in Dhaka on Tuesday evening in a very warm, cordial and friendly atmosphere, a foreign ministry press release said here today.
