Bangladesh Agricultural Investment Forum begins in city

The first ever Bangladesh Agricultural Investment Forum has started its journey today as part of a fresh drive to accelerate country agricultural transformation.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to increase targeted investment and access to finance for food producers and Agri-processing companies. It brings together key stakeholders along the Agri-food value chain, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, banks, and policymakers.
Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque was present as chief guest at the opening session of the forum here with Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter in the chair.

DCCI urges effective business and government agency collaboration to ensure market stability

With a view to implement the vision of the Prime Minister SMART Bangladesh, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) today organized a Multi stakeholders roundtable on strengthening business-agency collaboration at DCCI in the city.
Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Md Atiqul Islam was present at the roundtable as chief guest while Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh was present as special guest.
Chairperson of the Bangladesh Competition Commission Pradip Ranjan Chakrobarty and President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Mahbubul Alam were present as guests of honour.

FBCCI, IOFS join forces to expand halal market opportunities

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) have set their sights on expanding the global Halal market together.
Both the FBCCI and IOFS have outlined their plans to enhance halal product availability and market penetration at a discussion meeting held at the FBCCI Icon in Dhaka today.
FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam said that the halal market is growing in both muslim and non-muslim nations. A significant share of the halal industry came from OIC member nations, which was worth $3.7 trillion in 2020, said a press release.

Palak urges UK businessmen to invest in Bangladesh

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has urged businessmen of the United Kingdom (UK) to visit Bangladesh and invest here.
Palak, now visiting India, made the call at a meeting with UK Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology Paul Scully in Bangalore yesterday on the sideline of the G-20 minister level conference, said a press release here.
During the meeting, they discussed in details various issues related to mutual interests in the areas of trade, cashless economy, startup business exchange and B2B (business to business) matchmaking. They agreed to identify key issues to build up a digital economy that will benefit all.
