FBCCI seeks continued support of Japan to build developed Bangladesh

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) today called upon Japan to continue their support towards developing the infrastructures and logistics of Bangladesh, facing the challenges of post LDC graduation and thus building it as a developed nation.
FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam made this call in a courtesy meeting with Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori held at the FBCCI office in the capital.
Terming Japan as one of the most reliable partners for the development of Bangladesh, Mahbubul said over the past 50 years, the relationship between the two countries has been strengthening gradually, said a press release.

Musk threatens to sue anti-defamation group for falling revenue

NEW YORK: Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, formerly Twitter, said he is considering suing a leading anti-defamation group, arguing that its accusations of anti-Semitism have led the company to lose revenue.
Musk late Monday accused the US-based Jewish organization of making unfounded complaints against him and X that have scared away advertisers.
"To clear our platform name on the matter of anti-Semitism, it looks like we have no choice but to file a defamation lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League... oh the irony!" Musk wrote on X on Monday.

Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains project inaugurated

With a series of events, UNIDO together with national and international partners marked the official inception of the SWITCH to Circular Economy Value Chains (SWITCH2CE) Project in Bangladesh to steer the textiles and garments sector toward sustainable circular practices.
In the backdrop of Bangladesh remarkable economic growth, positioning it as the world second-largest garment exporter and a significant GDP contributor, environmental concerns associated with textile waste have emerged as a critical challenge.
Addressing this, the global SWITCH2CE project, co-funded by the European Union and the Government of Finland, is poised to pioneer circular strategies across textiles, plastic packaging, and ICT & Electronics value chains.

Country third tea auction center launched in Panchagarh

The country third tea auction center has been opened in Panchagarh in a bid to ensure fair price of raw tea leaves.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi formally inaugurated the centre today in Panchagarh.
Addressing a function marking the inauguration, organized at Panchagarh Government Auditorium, the Commerce Minister said that the country third tea auction center has been launched in Panchagarh to ensure fair price of raw tea leaves for the tea farmers, said a press release.
"This will reduce the cost of the tea producers," he added.
