RAB arrests suspected killer in Turag thana area

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main accused of a murder case filed with Barlekha thana in Moulvibazar District, from Dhour area under Turag thana on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday.
The arrested is Md Sirajul Islam alias Imon, 32, son of late A Quduch of Habiganj district.
Confirming the matter to BSS, RAB-1 Senior Assistant Director (Media Officer) Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Parvez Rana today said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force managed to nab Imon from Dhour area after 4.30 pm on Thursday.

14 helpless women get sewing machines in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ: A total of 14 helpless women living in the town received sewing machines to change their socio-economic condition today.
Mayor of Sunamganj Paurashava Nader Bakht distributed the sewing machines as the chief guest held at the hall room of the paurashava this afternoon.

Over 83pc boiled rice procurement completed in Khulna

KHULNA: Over 83 percent boiled rice procurement has been completed in all 10 districts in the division till August 31, said an official of Khulna Regional Food Controller Office.
The government has set a target of procuring 51,684 tonnes of Boro paddy and over 2,07,349 tonnes of boiled rice during the current season.
On August 31, 2023, over 28,164 tonnes of Boro paddy and over 1,71,417 tonnes of boiled rice have been procured, said the official.

Three workers electrocuted in Brahmanbaria

BRAHMANBARIA: Three construction workers were electrocuted at Terkanda village under Sarail upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Lokman Mia, 29, resident of Nijsarail area under Sadar Union of the upazila, Amjad, 18, resident of the same area and Sharif, 15, resident of Zilkudar Para village of the upazila.
