    Nationwide intercity train services to resume Thursday
    Intercity train services across Bangladesh will resume on Thursday, following a 27-day suspension.
    This announcement was made by Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan, director of Public Relations at Bangladesh Railways, in a text message on Sunday afternoon.
    According to the message, freight trains will restart on Monday, while mail, express, local, and commuter trains will begin operations on Tuesday.
    Intercity trains will commence service on Thursday.
    Tickets for intercity trains will be available for purchase starting at 5pm on Monday.

    SM Sultan birth centenary observed in Narail
    The birth centenary of renowned artist SM Sultan was observed at his birth place in the district today.
    The SM Sultan Foundation and district administration jointly organised several programmes to mark the birth centenary.
    The programmes included Quran Khawani, placing wreaths at his grave, seeking eternal peace of his departed soul, and doa mahfil.
    Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Arafat Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Tarek Al Mehdi, Ansar VDP District Adjutant Bikash Chandra Biswas, S M Sultan Sangrahashala Curator Tandra Mukherjee, among others, were present.

    BGB intensifies patrolling, surveillance at border
    Border Guard Bangladesh has increased patrolling, surveillance at border to prevent the escape of corrupt individuals from the country.
    Recently, after the victory of the anti-discrimination student and movement in the country, some corrupt and criminal individuals are attempting to flee the country. In such a situation, border patrols and intelligence surveillance have been increased, according to a BGB Headquarters press release on Wednesday.
    Additionally, to prevent escape via the border, people are requested to assist by providing information to BGB through the phone numbers +8801769-600682 and +8801769-620954, it said.

    2 held with 112-kg ganja
    Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime operation, arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 112 kilograms of ganja in the district last night.
    The arrested were identified as Mosharaf Hossain, 38, son of late Nazrul Islam of Fulbari village under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district and Muhammad Sharif, 27, son of late Abdul Maleque of Ghorashal village under Muradnagar upazila in Comilla district, RAB sources said this noon.
    On a tip-off, a team of the RAB conducted a raid in the house of Mosharaf Hossain around 1.30 am and recovered the hemp and arrested them red-handed, RAB sources said.
