    iFarmer, Winrock to work together for farmers climate resilience
    iFarmer Limited and Winrock International recently signed an agreement recently at iFarmer Limited headquarter. Both the parties expressed commitment to working closely on a range of initiatives through the B-PEMS AugroJatra Climate Change Project, funded by the US Department of State. The partnership will encompass both agriculture and aquaculture by ensuring that farmers benefit with information on climate-smart farming practices, agri-inputs and tailored financial assistance.
    The agreement was signed by Fahad Ifaz, CEO of iFarmer Limited and Nasir Chowdhury, Project Director, B-PEMS AugroJatra Climate Change Project, Winrock International.
    Zakia Naznin, Senior Technical Lead-Climate Change; Layel Md. Zahirul Islam, Livelihoods and Skills Development Specialist; Nusrat Khan, Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist of Winrock; Forhad Jufiker Rafel, VP of Field Operations, and Kallol Kumar Roy, Head of Farmer Financing Operations of iFarmer, were present during the signing of the agreement. Other participants of the ceremony were Deb Kumar Nath, Development Project Coordinator; Mohammad Adeeb Sharif, Impact Analyst and Mayesha Binte Mahbub, Assistant Manager, Marketing Investment & Digital Activation; along with other officials of both organizations.

    JICA and BFDC join hands to Modernize the Fish Landing Center in Coxs Bazar
    Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement of JPY 2,294 million (approx. BDT 165 crore) to implement The Project for the Improvement of Fish Landing Center of Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) in Coxs Bazar District. The signing ceremony held today at the Economic Relations Division (ERD).
    Under this project, JICA and BFDC will work together for infrastructural upgradations within the center, and improve management skills among the BFDC officials.
    The Grant Agreement was signed by Ichiguchi Tomohide, Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh and Md. Shahriar Kader Siddiky, Secretary, Economic Relations Division (ERD).
    Iwama Kiminori, Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh; Sayeed Mahmood Belal Haider, Chairman of BFDC; and relevant officials from JICA, ERD, BFDC and the Embassy of Japan were present to witness the signing.

    TECNO Inaugurates Five New Brand Outlets in the North Bengal
    TECNO, the leading mobile phone manufacturer, has expanded its footprint in North Bengal with the inauguration of five new brand outlets. The grand opening ceremony was attended by notable personalities including content creator Rs Fahim, CEO of Ismartu Bangladesh Rezwanul Haque, and Head of Marketing Md. Asaduzzaman.
    The new TECNO brand outlets aim to provide customers with convenient access to TECNO's latest smartphones and accessories. The outlets are strategically located in key areas across North Bengal, ensuring widespread coverage for customers.
    In Rangpur Zilla Parishad Super Market, three brand outlets have been opened, with locations on the first (Shop No. 105), second (Shop No. 208), and third floors (Shop No. 306) respectively. Additionally, a brand outlet has been established in Nilphamari Babupara Mor, Paur Market, catering to the growing demand for TECNO products in the region. In Syedpur, a brand outlet is now operational on the ground floor of Syedpur Plaza.

    Energypac to build Excellent Tiles Industries factory
    Energypac Power Generation PLC has recently gone into an agreement with Excellent Tiles Industries Ltd for the latter factory expansion. This marks the beginning of a new era in this industry. Energypac business unit Steelpac will work in the expansion of Excellent Tiles Industries factory.
    To this end, an agreement signing ceremony was held at the Energy Center. Energypac, its Managing Director & CEO Humayun Rashid, Chief Business Officer Alomay Biswas, Chief Financial Officer Md. Aminur Rahman Khan and Chief Supply Chain Officer Shahed Latif were present. Representing Excellent Tiles Industries Ltd were Managing Director Azizul Hakim Sumon; Senior Manager (Commercial) Jahangir Alam Bhuiyan and Senior Manager (Finance) Rashed Al Amin Khaled.
    Excellent Tiles Industries Ltd has recently taken an initiative to expand its factory covering an extensive area of 173,500 square feet. Under this agreement, Steelpac will support to extend this factory. With its state-of-the-art steel-construction solutions and capabilities, Steelpac will augment the manufacturing capabilities of Excellent Tiles Industries Ltd. Humayun Rashid, Managing Director & CEO of Energypac Power Generation PLC, said, “We are grateful to have been chosen by Excellent Tiles for the expansion of their factory and are delighted to ink this contract. Steelpac will provide industry-leading solutions to build their factory. This will significantly enable the sanitary ware manufacturer to boost its production capacity.”
