
President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta will embark on a four-day official visit to Bangladesh from December 14 to 17 at the invitation of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
“President Ramos-Horta is scheduled to attend Bangladesh Victory Day celebrations on December 16 during his visit,” said Foreign Secretary Md Jashin Uddin at a press briefing, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.
The President will lead a high-level 18-member delegation, which includes Timor-Leste Foreign Minister, the chief advisor to the President, and senior government officials.

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams for 2025 will begin on April 10.
It will continue till May 8, said in a notification signed by Professor Md Abul Bashar, convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee and Examination Controller of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board today.
The SSC and equivalent examinations will be held on full-marks and full-time basis, the notification said, adding that the examinations will start from April 10 with Bangla first paper.
The theoretical examinations will be held on the scheduled date from 10am to 1pm.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today stressed the need for flourishing technology to accelerate communication in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) saying the country hilly region should be taken forward in education, technology and economic aspect.
"The hilly areas are remote, which makes communication difficult. That is why flourishing technology there is an urgent. This distance can be overcome through technology," he said.
The chief adviser was addressing virtually a training programme titled Hill District Council Management arranged for the hill district council chairmen and members at Chittagong Hill Tracks Complex in the capital.

Gono Odhikar Parishad has demanded the cancellation of the economic zone allocation given to India, calling for the establishment of a military cantonment in Feni to safeguard Bangladesh sovereignty.
A mass protest was held on Wednesday in front of the National Press Club, where leaders from various levels of the organization participated.
The protest was organized to oppose the allocation of an economic zone to India.
Col (retd) Mia Mashiuzzaman, convener of Gono Odhikar Parishad, accused India of betraying Bangladesh by sheltering former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
