The outdoor patients of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) does not get proper medical services as scarcity of doctors, dominance of medical representatives and agents and mismanagement grip it, awaiting people in long queues to avail medicare for hours.
Huge presence of representatives of pharmaceuticals companies, shortage of doctors, and influence of agents were seen lingering the patients sufferings as they have to wait for hours after hours to reach the concerned outdoor doctors room even after buying tickets from the hospital.
Medical representatives are very often seen intruding frequently into the rooms of outdoor physicians who were comparatively low in number for demand, making patients time wasted for hours and putting them in long lines to get treatment.

Govt aims to bring down inflation to 4-5pc: BB governor

Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur today said the government has planned to bring down inflation to 4-5 percent.
"Our aims are to bring inflation down to 7 percent by next June. We will bring it down to 5 percent by the next fiscal year 2025-26. The main goal is to bring inflation down to 4-5 percent. I hope it is possible," he said.
The BB governor said this while speaking as the chief guest at a dialogue on "Tipping Points of Reform Agenda for the Turnaround of the Banking Sector of Bangladesh" at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) auditorium in the city.

Pakistan High Commissioner meets BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia
