
President Mohammed Shahabuddin has urged all to refrain from destabilizing or embarrassing the interim government centering a media publicity by quoting him regarding the resignation issue of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The publicity that is being carried out in several media quoting President Mohammed Shahabuddin centering the resignation issue of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has created widespread confusion in the public mind, said a statement issued by the Bangabhaban Press Wing this evening.

The Bangladesh Bank has issued a warning to all banks, urging them to stay alert regarding the import of products from supplier countries that have global sanctions.
Authorised dealer branches of the banks and their central trade processing units have been advised to exercise caution in importing products from the sanctioned supplier nations, said sources, citing an internal document issued by the central bank.
It also requested verification of whether the supplier country is under international restrictions. Because, transactions in these countries are risky for global banks.

Due to the high number of false and counterfeit documents, the Italian Government has suspended the validity of all “Nulla Osta” (work authorizations) issued in favour of citizens of some countries, including Bangladesh, until due verification is completed, said the Italian Embassy in Dhaka.
According to Law Decree 11 October 2024, the Embassy will issue the work visa only after receiving confirmation from the provincial immigration office in Italy (”Sportello Unico”`- SUI) that the verification of the suspended Nulla Osta is completed.
Pending the verification mentioned above, applicants will have their passports returned, said the Embassy of Italy informing Italian work visa applicants and appointment seekers.

The government has announced the formation of four more new reform commissions on health, mass media, workers rights and women affairs and it is now at “almost final” stage.
National Professor Dr AK Azad Khan will lead the commission on health affairs while columnist Kamal Ahmed will head the commission on mass media.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS) Executive Director Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed will lead the commission on workers rights while Naripokkho founder Shireen Huq will lead the commission on women affairs.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan shared the decisions while briefing the media at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday evening.
