Number of country voters currently stands at 11,96,91,633

The total number of voters in Bangladesh stood at 11,96,91,633, the Election Commission(EC) revealed here today.
The voters, who were registered till September 14 this year, will cast their votes in the next general election.
As part of the electoral process, the EC finalized voter list and the updating process of voter list continued till September 14, 2023, the EC sources said.

Metro rail to open for commuters on Nov 5

The much-desired metro rail will run on Agargaon-Motijheel section from November 5, as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate this part on November 4.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Agargaon-Motijheel section of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line 6 service on November 4,” said MAN Siddique, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
The Prime Minister along with her entourage members will also travel on the train, he added.

3-dev schemes joint inauguration features Bangladesh-India rare friendship: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the joint inauguration of three India-assisted development schemes demonstrated the rare friendship and mutual cooperation between Dhaka and New Delhi, hoping that the existing relationship will be enhanced further in future.
"We (Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and me) today jointly inaugurated three projects. It is a demonstration of having rare friendly relations and mutual cooperation," she said.
She also said Bangladesh and India will attain many successes in the days to come through mutual cooperation which will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
