
The Dhaka Metro Rail has reached a new milestone, carrying a record 403,164 passengers in a single day, according to the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
In its verified Facebook post on Friday, DMTCL announced that the record-breaking figure was achieved on Thursday, marking the highest number of passengers transported in a single day since the metro rail service was inaugurated.
Expressing gratitude, DMTCL extended thanks to passengers, well-wishers, and stakeholders for their support in achieving this milestone.

A businessman and her sister were shot and wounded by some miscreants in front of their Pallabi residence in the capital early Saturday.
The injured were identified as Md Jasim Uddin, 44, a TV showroom businessman and his sister Shahinur Begum.
According to Mohammad Amir Hossain, a relative who brought them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said they came under attack around 3:35 am in front of their residence.
An altercation broke out between Jasim Uddin and a group of local people when he was returning home after offering Shab-e-Barat prayers.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has said that Bangladesh was a topic of discussion between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump in Washington where Modi shared his "concerns" about the recent developments in Bangladesh.
"Just to share with you - this was a subject that was discussed between the two leaders," Misri said during a briefing in Washington on Friday as PM Modis visit to the USA continues.
He said PM Modi "shared his views, indeed his concerns" with regard to recent developments in Bangladesh and how India "sees" the situation.
India expressed the hope that the situation in Bangladesh would "move forward" in a direction where they can "pursue relations in a constructive and stable way" with Bangladesh.
"But there are concerns about that situation and PM Modi shared those views with President Trump," Misri added.
