Two Macaws worth Tk 8 lakh have been stolen from Gazipur Safari Park.
Rafiqul Islam, acting-in-charge of the safari park, said two green wing Macaws were stolen from the park area on November 22.
The thieves stole the Macaws after cutting the fence, he said.
However, the local forest department rescued one on Saturday during a drive at Tongi Bazar, he added.
The deadline for submitting wealth statements by government officials and employees has been extended by a month until December 31 from November 30.
Senior Secretary of the ministry Md Mokhles Ur Rahman announced the decision at a press briefing held at the secretariat on Sunday.
“No one has submitted wealth statement in the last 16 years. Many people do not understand how to submit it. Therefore, the time will be extended until December 31,”he said.

Bangladesh Army in a drive at a secret hideout of the Kuki Chin National Army (KNA) in the densely forest frontiers of Rowangchhari and Ruma upazilas in Bandarban hilly district, leaving three KNA men killed in a gunfight today.
A release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the news this afternoon.
The remaining KNA members, however, fled the scene in the face of the army operation. The army personnel are working to nab other terrorists.
During the drive, the Army personnel recovered one Chinese Rifle, two guns, huge ammunition, uniforms, wireless device, laptop, mobile phone sets, medicines and some other equipment from the scene, the ISPR added.
