
Some unidentified miscreants attacked East West Media Group office in Dhaka Bashundhara Residential Area on Monday afternoon.
Around 2 pm, a group of people with hockey sticks forced open the main gate, entered the office and carried out vandalism, a journalist from the media group said.
Miscreants broke into Radio Capital office and ransacked it. They also vandalized tables, computers, AC in the building. Kaler Kantho, Bangladesh Pratidin, Daily Sun, BanglaNews 24, News 24, T Sports and Capital Radio officers are located in three adjacent buildings of East West Media Group.
The group also vandalized 20-25 cars parked in the office premises.
Identities of the attackers could not be ascertained immediately as some of them were wearing masks, said the journalist.

The Local Government Division has removed mayors of the 12 city corporations and appointed administrators for those corporations.
The Administrators were appointed in the vacated positions, said a gazette notification issued by the local government division today.
The notification said, the mayors were removed from their offices as per the section 13(Ka) of the Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.
The 12 city corporations are: Dhaka South, Dhaka North, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Barisal, Narayanganj, Cumilla, Rangpur, Gazipur and Mymensingh.

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has imposed restrictions on giving loans and prohibited opening Letter of Credits (LCs) for import in six banks under the control of the S Alam Group.
Md Mezbaul Haque, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Bank, confirmed it, saying these six banks will not be able to distribute new loans or renew existing ones until further notice, reports BSS.
The banks are, Islami Bank, Social Islami Bank, First Security Islami Bank, Union Bank, Global Islami Bank and Bangladesh Commerce Bank.

Chief Adviser to the interim government Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus today said a free, fair and participatory election will be arranged in the country as soon as possible after bringing necessary reforms in state system.
"The main task of the present government is to arrange a fair election as soon as possible. But, before that, a conducive environment must be created by brining major reforms in judiciary, civil administration, law enforcement agencies and mass media," he told a meeting with diplomats at Hotel Intercontinental here.
The chief adviser briefed diplomats of different countries and resident representatives of the United Nations agencies in Dhaka.
Later, press secretary to chief adviser, Shafiqul Alam briefed reporters about the outcome of the meeting.
After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of student-people movement on August 5, the interim government, led by Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus, was sworn in on August 8. After assuming office, Dr Yunus briefed foreign diplomats today for the first time.
