No shortage of antivenom for Russells Viper

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has said the country will not see any shortage of anti-venom for Russells Viper (Chandrabora) as the country has sufficient stock.
The minister said this at a scientific seminar arranged by the Bangladesh Society of Medicine in Dhaka on Thursday, according to local media reports.
Advising not to spread wrong information, the health minister said there are sufficient stocks of the anti-venom.

DNCC demolishes part of Sadeeq Agro farm

A part of Sadeeq Agro farm was demolished during an eviction drive conducted by the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in the Mohammadpur area on Thursday. The drive began around 10:30 am.
Authorities found that the farm was illegally occupying a section of the Ramchandrapur canal.
Sadeeq Agro recently grabbed public attention after selling a goat for Tk 15 lakh.

Bangladesh wins award for movie Mujib: the Making of a Nation

Bangladesh has won the Best Activities Award for the screening of the movie Mujib: The Making of a Nation at the International Expo (iExpo) held at the renowned Multimedia University of Malaysia (MMU), Cyberjaya, Selangor.
Khalid Faiaz Mohammad, Student Advisor , International Student Society and Tengku Alyssa Sabrina Binti Tengku Erwin Martino, Head of Activities Department, International Expo (iExpo), Multimedia University handed over the Award to Md Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia on Thursday (June 27, 2024) at the Bangladesh High Commission.
Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khastagir, Deputy High Commissioner and Rehana Parvin, First Secretary (Political) were also present on the occasion, a press release received here today said.

ACC approves case against Tangail mayor in bridge corruption scandal

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a case against Tangail Mayor S M Sirajul Haque and five others for alleged corruption in the construction of the Beradoma Bridge.
The other accused in the case are three engineers, a project director, and a contractor.
When contacted about the case, the mayor told The Shuttle Times, "I am now in Australia for personal work. I do not know anything about the case yet, so I do not want to talk about it at this moment."
