
The last minute preparations are going on in full swing with painting and decorating the idols made by artisans in different parts of the country with Durga puja around the corner.
Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, will begin on October 9 and end with the Bijoya Dashami procession and immersion of the idols of goddess Durga in water bodies on October 13.
Artisans are putting the finishing touches on the intricate decorations and idols that will adorn the county pandals.
The interim government has issued a set of instructions for the local administration and law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order situation during the Durga Puja celebrations across the country.

At least three people were killed after a bus hit a parked rickshaw van, which in turn crashed into a kitchen of a roadside eatery leading to an explosion in Dhaka Keraniganj this evening.
The incident took place around 7:30pm in the Ramerkanda area of Keraniganj, Sohrab Al Hossain, Keraniganj Model Police Station confirmed to the Business Eye.
All the deceased were inside the eatery. They died as the rickshaw van hit a gas cylinder causing the explosion and fire, he added.
The identities of the deceased could not be known.
Shahjahan Miah, duty officer of Fire Service Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said firefighters recovered three bodies from the spot.
Two firefighting units doused the blaze around 8:50pm.

In a significant move to address the ongoing liquidity crisis in Bangladesh banking sector, five financially stable banks have extended loan support to their weaker counterparts.
The five banks - City Bank PLC, Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTBL), Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC, Bengal Commercial Bank Ltd, and Eastern Bank PLC- have been approved to provide a total of Tk945 liquidity support to four weak banks - First Security Islami Bank, Social Islami Bank PLC, National Bank Ltd and Global Islami Bank PLC, according to central bank documents seen by The Business Standard.
Of the banks, FSIBL has been approved to receive Tk300 crore, with Tk200 crore from City Bank, Tk50 crore from MTBL, and another Tk50 crore from Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL).

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered banks to give account details of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and his wife, Umme Roman Ahmed and five other individuals.
In a letter, the anti-money laundering agency today requested banks and non-bank financial institutions to provide information regarding various accounts held by these individuals and their associated companies or organizations.
The other five are Abul Kalam Madbor, Mohammad Nazmul Bashar Khan, Mohammad Bashar, Konika Afruz and Kazi Sadia Hasan.
