President Mohammed Shahabuddin today appointed Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, member of parliament from Madaripur-1 constituency as the Chief Whip of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad(JS). In line with the Bangladesh (Whip) Order, 1972, the President gave the appointments. Parliament Secretariat Human Resources Division-1, published the gazette in this regard. The President also appointed five ruling party lawmakers as whips. Bangladesh Railways (BR) will operate 11 pairs of special trains for the devotees of Bishwa Ijtema-2024, the second largest congregation of Muslims after the holy Hajj. "Bangladesh Railways will launch 11 pairs of special trains on the occasion of Bishwa Ijtema," Railways Minister Md Zillul Hakim today announced this at a view-exchange-meeting with journalists at Rail Bhaban here. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought more investments from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in Bangladesh to march ahead the measures taken by her government for socio-economic advancement of the countrymen. "Make more investment in Bangladesh to take forward the initiatives taken by us for socio-economic advancement of the people," the Prime Minister speech writer M Nazrul Islam quoted her as telling the KSA Ambassador to Bangladesh, Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan when he paid a courtesy call on her at the PM official Ganabhaban residence here.
