Govt cuts prices of diesel, kerosene by Tk 2.25 per litre

The government on Sunday set the automated retail prices of petroleum fuel for the month of April with effect from Monday.
As per the new price, the diesel and kerosene will be sold at Tk 106 per litre instead of previous price at Tk 108.25, lowered by Tk 2.25 per litre.
The prices of octane and petrol have been kept unchanged at Tk 126 and Tk 122 per litre respectively.
Energy and Mineral Resources Division set the new automated price through a gazette notification as per the government decision.

Netanyahu agrees to Gaza ceasefire talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to send delegations to Egypt and Qatar, where negotiators have been trying to secure the release of Israeli hostages as part of a possible Gaza ceasefire deal, his office said on Friday.
Netanyahu office said he spoke with the heads of Israeli intelligence agencies Shin Bet and Mossad and “approved that delegations on their behalf go in the coming days to Doha and Cairo,” with a mandate to push forward with negotiations.
Since the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Monday demanding an "immediate ceasefire", Hamas and Israel have traded blame for their failure to agree a deal.

Donald Lu lauds Bangladeshi-Americans relationship

Donald Lu, assistant secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, has highly appreciated the contributions of the Bangladeshi Americans in building the foundation of bilateral relations between the two nations.
Lu was addressing, as the guest of honour, a reception hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC on Tuesday evening on the occasion of Independence and National Day of Bangladesh, said a press release received here today.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Muhammad Imran delivered the welcome address at the function held at Bangabandhu Auditorium of the Mission.

Bangladesh, China exchange feasibility study report to sign FTA

Bangladesh and China today exchanged a draft feasibility study report for initially signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries to increase trade and investment.
The two countries exchanged the report at a ceremony at the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce at Bangladesh secretariat here.
Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen and senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce, among others, were present on the occasion.
